Swedish astronaut Marcus Wandt is set to become the third Swede in space, following his arrival at Florida's Kennedy Space Center for the launch.
The 42-year-old was seen in high spirits as he waived to onlookers before boarding a Tesla vehicle for the spacecraft.
Wandt and his colleagues have been in quarantine for three weeks to ensure they are healthy for the launch and don't bring any infection to the International Space Station.
The launch was initially set for Wednesday but was postponed to allow for checks on the spacecraft's parachutes.
Wandt has chosen a specially-produced space-themed track by Swedish music producer Svidden to play during the journey to the rocket.
