Swedish astronaut Marcus Wandt is currently in quarantine ahead of his planned trip to the International Space Station (ISS) on January 17th.
Amid the widespread viruses, even a minor cold can pose a major problem for astronauts in space.
Researchers from the Royal Institute of Technology will have the opportunity to study how humans can work in the confined and extreme environment of a space station by conducting cognitive exercises with Wandt in space.
Additionally, one of the Swedish experiments to be conducted during Wandt's time in space involves studying stem cells in zero gravity, which many researchers are studying to develop treatments to repair damaged or malfunctioning tissues.
