The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning for severe thunderstorms in six counties due to extreme short-term rainfall.
The heavy downpours, which can bring up to 40 millimeters of rain in a short period, could lead to flooding in areas such as basements, stormwater systems, roads, and underpasses.
The warning is in effect from 1 PM to 9 PM today and affects Jönköping, Västra Götaland, Värmland, Dalarna, Örebro, and Östergötland.
There is also a risk of strong winds during the storm.
More rain is expected throughout the week, according to SMHI meteorologist Lars Knutsson.
