The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning for intense rainfall expected to affect northern Götaland and southern Svealand on Wednesday.

Meteorologist Therese Fougman warns of heavy rain and thunderstorms, potentially causing significant water accumulation.

Regions likely to be most impacted include northern Västergötland, Östergötland, Sörmland, and the Stockholm area.

The heavy rainfall could lead to traffic disruptions and flooding, particularly on roads and in basements.

Residents are urged to take precautionary measures, especially in areas previously affected by such conditions.
