A man in his thirties seriously injured a police officer in Jönköping, Sweden, leading to a house search and neighbor interrogations.

The suspect's apartment door was forcibly opened during the search.

The suspect, previously convicted of threatening an officer, allegedly attacked the officer with a sharp object, and he was subsequently shot by the officer's colleague.

The injured policeman is now in a 'serious but stable' condition.

Two parallel preliminary investigations are ongoing, one regarding misconduct as the officer discharged his weapon, and another regarding attempted murder and severe firearms violation by the suspect.
