Police were called to a schoolyard in Bromölla on Friday afternoon after school staff reported an intoxicated man refusing to leave.

The man had a dog with him, which attacked and bit an officer as the police approached.

The dog was shot dead at the scene, and the injured officer was taken to the hospital, but their injuries are not life-threatening.

The man was taken into custody and is suspected of violating dog and cat supervision laws and causing bodily harm.
