Due to extremely cold temperatures, reaching below -35 degrees Celsius in some areas, Swedish train operator Vy Tåg has cancelled all services north of Umeå.
This impacts the Norrland train to and from Stockholm and Norrtåg.
The cancellations are expected to last at least until Thursday, depending on weather conditions.
Passengers who had booked tickets will be reimbursed or given the option to reschedule.
The decision was made to ensure safety as the risks of trains stalling in such cold temperatures are too high.
The recent cold snap has also caused problems for road users, with warnings for snow chaos and strong winds in the south.
