Extreme cold from Siberia has swept across northern Sweden, with temperatures expected to plummet to as low as -35 degrees Celsius.
The intense cold has led to the cancellation of all train services between Kiruna and Luleå due to safety concerns.
Despite the severe conditions, life continues as usual for many locals.
However, the cold weather is expected to move southward towards the end of the week, potentially causing disruptions across the country.
SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, warns that the wind chill factor could make the temperature feel as low as -48 degrees Celsius in certain areas.
The extreme cold is unusual even for the season, and the record low temperatures are expected to persist throughout the week.
