A wolf was shot and killed near Norrtälje following a series of attacks on livestock, including the killing of five sheep and two Shetland ponies.
The County Administrative Board of Stockholm had authorized a protective hunt after these incidents, which now concludes with the wolf's death.
The decision for the hunt was made on April 16, in response to the ponies' deaths and subsequent sheep fatalities.
The wolf has been sent to the National Veterinary Institute for DNA analysis to confirm if it is the same animal responsible for both attacks.
This action aims to prevent further loss of livestock in the area.
