A wolf responsible for over 20 attacks on livestock in Skåne and other parts of southern Sweden over the last year was killed during a protective hunt on April 24. This particular wolf, identified through DNA analysis, had been linked to at least 15 other attacks in the region since September 2023. The decision for the protective hunt was made on April 18, following a series of sheep attacks in the Söderåsen area of Skåne.
The unusual number of attacks by a single wolf highlights the severity of the situation, according to a statement from the Skåne County Administrative Board.
