Following a series of wolf attacks on sheep in Skåne's Söderåsen area, authorities have once again authorized protective hunting.
This decision comes after the latest incident resulted in the death of two ewes, marking the fifth such attack in a short period.
The protective hunting area has been expanded in response to these continued aggressions, attributed to a wolf identified as G93-23, originally from Norway.
This wolf is linked to at least 15 attacks in southern Sweden since last autumn.
The rapid growth of the wolf population in Skåne, noted since the first pair was discovered in 2021, has raised concerns among local sheep farmers.
