Swedish astronaut Marcus Wandt has made a triumphant return to Earth after his mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

Landing at Bromma Airport in Stockholm on Sunday afternoon, Wandt was greeted by an impressive escort of two Jas 39 Gripen fighter jets and warmly welcomed by Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

Expressing his pride and gratitude, Wandt shared his astonishment at the intense speed experienced during the spacecraft's launch, along with the joy of answering questions from schoolchildren while in space.

His return marks a significant moment for Sweden's presence in space exploration, celebrated by a press conference featuring prominent figures such as Education Minister Mats Persson, ESA's Director General Josef Aschbacher, and Anna Rathsman, Director General of the Swedish National Space Agency.

Wandt's journey not only highlights Sweden's contributions to space exploration but also ignites the curiosity and imagination of future generations.
