The annual licensed wolf hunts have begun in various regions of Sweden, with a total of 36 wolves approved to be hunted down across six approved territories in Södermanlands, Värmlands, Västmanlands, Västra Götalands, and Örebro counties.
This includes twelve wolves in Örebro county, the largest allocation in the country, and six in the Ripelången territory between Herrljunga and Falköping.
However, the hunt may be disrupted by animal rights activists, as suggested by the Hunt Saboteurs Sweden group.
This year's hunt is historic as Södermanlands county is participating in a licensed wolf hunt for the first time.
The hunt will continue until February 15 at the latest.
