With the start of the new year, Sweden's annual wolf hunt is underway.
This year, the hunt allows for a total of 36 wolves to be killed across six counties, causing over 3,000 hunters to sign up with hopes of taking down a wolf.
The hunt will continue until February 15th or until all 36 wolves have been killed, whichever comes first.
While some argue that the hunt helps control the wolf population and alleviates damage to agriculture, others, such as the Swedish Carnivore Association, argue that the hunt should be stopped, stating that the current wolf population is too small considering that the wolf population in Sweden and Norway is isolated.
