Sweden Boosts Ukraine's Defense with Aid

Published: 2024-10-28

Sweden has announced an additional aid package of 490 million kronor to support Ukraine's defense forces.

This was revealed by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson during a press conference in Reykjavik, alongside Nordic leaders and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The funds are earmarked for Ukraine's military, including the acquisition of fighter missiles as part of Ukraine's F16 program, training, and demining efforts.

Additionally, the Swedish government has committed 230 million kronor to a Danish initiative aimed at procuring defense materials produced in Ukraine.

This support comes as Ukraine braces for another challenging winter amidst ongoing Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure, raising concerns about the country's resilience in the face of prolonged conflict.
