Published: 2024-02-20

Sweden has announced a substantial military support package to Ukraine, marking the 15th such package since the conflict with Russia began.

The new aid, valued at 7.1 billion kronor, includes 10 combat boats type Stridsbåt 90, 20 group boats, underwater weapons such as mines and torpedoes, and a significant quantity of artillery ammunition.

This announcement comes as part of a broader effort by Sweden to support Ukraine, with a total of 30 billion kronor sent since the start of the conflict.

Additionally, Sweden plans to train over 18,000 Ukrainian soldiers in various military skills, including healthcare, demining, and handling military equipment, with a budget of 400 million kronor allocated for this purpose.

The support underscores Sweden's commitment to Ukraine and its own security, highlighting the importance of increasing Europe's collective defense capabilities.
