The entire board of the Sweden Democrats (SD) in Sölvesborg has resigned following criticism over their handling of the EU election campaign.
Local group leader Louise Erixon welcomed the decision, attributing the board's departure to their failure in organizing an effective campaign, which saw the party's support drop from 39% to 26%.
Erixon praised the board's decision to step down as honorable and humble, acknowledging their responsibility for the electoral setback.
However, sources suggest the resignation was influenced by Erixon's return from maternity leave and harsh criticism during a recent meeting.
The district will now take over the board's responsibilities as the party seeks to recover from the electoral loss.
