In a significant political shift within the Lekeberg municipality, three members of the Sverigedemokraterna (Sweden Democrats) have departed from the party to establish the Lekebergspartiet.
Citing a lack of support from the regional SD Örebro län for their political endeavors, former members Skyeler Palm, Fredrik Medin, and Thiffanie Holgersson announced their departure through a debate article, becoming independent politicians in the process.
This move was reportedly a shock to the SD, with internal disputes between the members and the district board being highlighted as a key issue.
The newly formed Lekebergspartiet signals a potential challenge for the SD's future influence in the region.
