Elin Söderberg, a prominent member of Sweden's Green Party (Miljöpartiet), has resigned from her position in the Swedish Parliament following allegations of inappropriate behavior at a party event.

The incident reportedly occurred during an after-party linked to the party's municipal and regional days in Borås.

Annika Hirvonen, the leader of the Green Party's parliamentary group, confirmed that Söderberg's actions were deemed incompatible with the party's values, leading to her decision to step down.

Söderberg, who has been a spokesperson for climate and rural issues, was also a candidate for the party's leadership in 2020. Nils Seye Larsson from Umeå is expected to take her place in Parliament.
