The redevelopment of Slussen in central Stockholm faces further delays and increased costs.
The completion of the final major contract could be pushed back by three years and add at least an extra 250 million kronor to the project.
Despite these challenges, the new Vattentorget is opening as part of the Slussen transformation, featuring 700 meters of seating along the water, and new walkways and cycle paths connecting Södermalm with Gamla Stan, aiming to create a vibrant public space.
This project hopes to not only upgrade transportation but also provide new recreational areas for residents.
