Nobel Center Sparks Traffic Concerns at Slussen

Published: 2024-08-15

The construction of the Nobel Center at Slussen in Stockholm has sparked concerns over potential traffic chaos, particularly affecting bus routes.

Former tourist bus driver Bo Eliasson warns that the influx of tourist buses could disrupt public transport, echoing past traffic issues that led to the rejection of a similar plan in 2018. The temporary bus terminal at Slussen is set to move to a pontoon at Stadsgården, with a new bus line introduced to accommodate those unable to walk long distances.

Despite these measures, the logistics remain a challenge, with local politicians voicing concerns over the impact on Nacka and Värmdö commuters.

The Nobel Center, expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, has yet to finalize its traffic management plans, raising questions about the feasibility of its current location.
