In a significant political shift within Åtvidaberg's municipality, members of the Kristdemokraterna (Christian Democrats) have decided to join the newly established Folklistan party.

This move, initiated by former KD members Joel Edoff and Fredrik Hanström, sees two full members and two alternates leaving the Christian Democrats to become 'political wildcards' for Folklistan in the local council.

The defection marks Folklistan's first official representation in a municipality, heralding a new phase for the party which was founded with ambitions of reducing democratic barriers and making its way into the EU Parliament.

This strategic maneuver was praised by Sara Skyttedal, a co-founder of Folklistan and a current member of the EU Parliament, who highlighted its significance for local and European political organization.
