In a significant political shift within Åtvidaberg's municipality, the only two Christian Democrat (KD) politicians, Joel Edoff and Fredrik Hanström, have left the party to join the non-partisan group Folklistan, becoming independents in the process.
This move was criticized by Magnus Oscarsson, a Christian Democrat Member of Parliament, who described it as another publicity stunt by Folklistan.
Meanwhile, former Christian Democrat and now EU Parliament member, Sara Skyttedal, expressed excitement over the change.
Oscarsson downplayed the impact of this shift on the party's stance in the EU election, emphasizing the continuation of promoting Christian Democratic values in Åtvidaberg.
