Following an extensive search operation by the Coast Guard's divers in Pukavik Bay, no oil was found on the seabed after the Marco Polo ferry incident.
The operation was initiated due to concerns that about 150,000 liters of heavy oil, which leaked when the ferry ran aground off Hörvik, might have settled on the ocean floor.
These fears were compounded by the nature of the oil, which can surface under warmer temperatures.
The selected dive sites were based on information regarding suspected oil findings.
However, after thorough examinations, the Coast Guard confirmed that no oil has been detected, marking a significant point in the post-spill recovery efforts.
