A tragic snowmobile accident south of Arvidsjaur, Sweden, claimed the life of a man on Sunday.
The incident occurred when the victim, whose age has not been disclosed, got stuck in the snow.
In an attempt to free himself, the snowmobile landed on him, resulting in fatal injuries.
Emergency services, including the police, ambulance, and rescue teams, were alerted around noon.
The challenging terrain complicated the rescue operation, necessitating the use of a sled to transport the unconscious man to an ambulance helicopter, which was unable to land due to the difficult conditions.
Despite the efforts of the rescue team, the man was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
Authorities have notified the next of kin.
