In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Sälen, a tragic accident occurred when a man in his mid-40s, while shoveling snow off a roof, was buried under a three-meter-deep snow pile after the snow avalanche protection failed.
The incident took place in the Lindvallen area of the Sälen mountains.
Emergency services, including mountain rescue and firefighters, spent over half an hour to unearth him.
He was subsequently transported to the hospital with serious injuries, with support from a Norwegian ambulance helicopter.
The heavy snowfall in the region has raised concerns over safety during snow removal activities.
