Johan Lindholm has been elected as the new chairman of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO).
The election process was unusually dramatic, with the top candidate withdrawing just two days before the vote, citing personal reasons.
The new candidate, Lindholm, who is the current chairman of the construction workers' union, received overwhelming support from LO members.
In his speech, Lindholm expressed his gratitude and emphasized the need for strong leadership and unity within the federation.
Former LO chairman Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson also expressed his satisfaction with the election outcome.
