Magdalena Andersson, the leader of the Social Democratic Party, attended the final day of the LO Congress, where expectations were high for the abolition of the qualifying day in health insurance.
LO's new chief, Johan Lindholm, argued that the qualifying day leads to poorer health and increased spread of illness as employees feel compelled to work despite being sick.
Currently, the rule is seen as unfair.
Aftonbladet's editorial suggests that Andersson needs to heed LO's demands if she aims to take over the government in 2026.
