After a month of being detained at the Migrationsverket facility in Mölndal, 86-year-old Halim Allushi has been released.
Halim, who suffers from multiple illnesses and likely dementia, was initially moved to a new section of the facility to better accommodate his needs.
However, his health continued to decline, prompting a group of detainees to demand his release through a letter.
The Migrationsdomstolen finally decided to release him, allowing him to return home to his daughter, Liljana Allushi.
While his release is a relief for his family, the future remains uncertain as they hope he can spend his remaining days with them.
