After 790 days in Iranian captivity, Swedish citizen Johan Floderus and Swedish-Iranian citizen Saeed Azizi have returned to Sweden.
Their release followed a controversial decision by the Swedish government to pardon Iranian executioner Hamid Noury, who was serving a life sentence in Sweden for heinous crimes.
Despite the emotional homecoming, the fate of Swedish-Iranian researcher Ahmadreza Djalali remains bleak as Iran refuses to discuss his release.
Djalali, who has been imprisoned since 2016, faces a death sentence and continues to be neglected in diplomatic negotiations.
His wife and organizations, including Amnesty, criticize the Swedish government for not securing his freedom.
