A hotel in Hammarby Sjöstad, southern Stockholm, was evacuated early Monday morning after a fire broke out in the lobby.
The incident was initially reported as a bomb threat, prompting the police and national bomb squad to respond.
A man, who was a guest at the hotel, was arrested for arson after allegedly smashing glass, pouring alcohol, and igniting paper, which caused a loud explosion-like sound.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and over 100 guests were safely evacuated.
The police have since reclassified the incident from general dangerous destruction to aggravated arson.
The hotel management expressed gratitude for the guests' patience during the evacuation process, and they provided temporary accommodations and support to those affected.
