In the 2024 EU elections, Västmanland recorded the lowest voter turnout in Sweden, with only about 44 percent participation.

This marks a significant drop from the previous election's 50 percent.

The last time the turnout was lower was in 2004, with about 36 percent.

Skinnskatteberg reported the poorest engagement this year, with just one-third of its residents voting.
