Kristofer Lundberg, former chairman of Vänsterpartiet's local branch in Angered, has been expelled from the party.

The decision, made by the party's executive committee, follows Lundberg's controversial support for the PFLP, a group classified as a terrorist organization by the EU and the US.

Despite the expulsion, Lundberg remains defiant, criticizing the party for wavering on key issues like the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Meanwhile, Maria Forsberg, the incoming party secretary, defends the decision, citing longstanding internal conflicts and the need for clarity in the party's fundamental positions.

The expulsion has also drawn criticism from Palestinian groups, who had previously urged the party to retain Lundberg.
