A severe train accident occurred in central Örebro last night, resulting in three pedestrians being struck by a freight train.

The victims were critically injured and police confirmed that all three individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

An extensive emergency response, including police, fire services, and multiple ambulances, was deployed to the site at Södra Station.

Police have launched an investigation into potential manslaughter and violations of railway safety laws, though the train driver is not currently suspected of any wrongdoing.

The area was cordoned off for several hours, with train services resuming early in the morning.
