In a tragic incident in Växjö, Sweden, two men lost their lives in a train accident after a night out.

The event occurred at a railway crossing in central Växjö, not far from the city's resecentrum.

Witnesses reported that one of the men, for unclear reasons, lay down on the tracks, prompting the other to attempt a rescue.

Unfortunately, both were struck by an oncoming train and died at the scene.

The police are investigating the incident as involuntary manslaughter without any suspects and have stated there is no indication of suicide.
