Two individuals have been arrested in Germany, suspected of planning a terrorist attack against the Swedish Parliament.

The suspects, described as being between 20 and 30 years old and followers of IS, were apprehended in the city of Gera, Thuringia.

According to German prosecutors, the plans for the attack were motivated by previous Quran burnings in Sweden during the summer of 2023. The German authorities have linked the suspects to the IS branch, ISPK, which primarily operates in Central Asia.

Both individuals are now awaiting the reading of their arrest warrants.
