In a major security operation in Tyresö, Stockholm, four men were arrested last Thursday, suspected of preparing for terrorist acts and serious weapons offenses.
The arrests, which were part of a larger police and Swedish Security Service (Säpo) operation, targeted individuals believed to have connections to the Islamic State in Somalia and involved in severe organized crime.
Two of the suspects are being held on probable cause for planning terrorist acts or participating in a terrorist organization, in addition to serious weapons offenses.
The other two are detained solely on charges of serious weapons offenses.
The raid also involved a location used as a mosque by an Islamic cultural association, signaling a deep-rooted investigation into activities linked to violent Islamist extremism.
