In June last year, a 16-year-old boy fatally stabbed a peer in Älvsjö, Stockholm.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, was found by passersby near his home.
The boys knew each other from childhood and a dispute had arisen before the attack.
The 16-year-old admitted to the stabbing but denied any wrongdoing, claiming self-defense.
However, the court found him guilty of murder.
Given his age at the time of the incident, he was sentenced to three years in closed juvenile care.
The court also noted that the case was complex and tragic, involving young individuals.
