Sveavägen, one of Stockholm's main traffic arteries, was closed to vehicles for the first time ever, turning the street into a vibrant public space.
From Friday night to Monday morning on selected weekends, through September, the street will host cultural events, markets, and social gatherings.
While some residents celebrate the quieter, safer environment, others, including classic car enthusiasts, feel sidelined.
City officials aim to balance community needs while minimizing traffic disruptions.
The initiative's success will be evaluated later this year.
