Jonas Sjöstedt, the leading candidate for the Left Party, celebrated their success in the recent EU elections with a gathering in Umeå.

Following the celebration, Sjöstedt flew to Brussels to begin his new role.

Despite his preference for trains, his spokesperson stated that summer bookings made flying necessary.

The Left Party made significant gains, securing 10.9% of the votes nationwide and 23.3% in Västerbotten.
