Severe snowstorms caused two massive pileups on Sweden's E4 and E18 highways near Uppsala, leading to traffic chaos and hospital emergencies.
Over 70 vehicles were involved in the accidents, with more than 20 people injured, including three seriously.
Both Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala and Enköping Hospital declared emergency status to handle the influx of patients.
Authorities blame sudden heavy snowfall and poor visibility for the crashes, urging drivers to stay off the roads.
Rescue teams worked tirelessly to clear the wreckage, while stranded passengers found temporary shelter in a bus.
SMHI has issued a yellow weather warning, predicting up to 15 cm of snow and hazardous driving conditions throughout the day.
