A shooting incident occurred near Skärholmen center, in southern Stockholm, leaving one man in his mid-20s hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

The police were alerted to the sound of gunfire around 12:40 pm and have since launched a murder investigation, though no arrests have been made.

Nearby, a preschool was locked down, with staff and children kept safe inside; although the children heard the shots, they did not witness the shooting.

The area has been cordoned off for investigation, with police helicopters and search dogs deployed.

This incident follows a fatal shooting in the same area just over a week ago, raising concerns about safety in the vicinity.
