In the early hours of Midsummer's Day, a residential apartment in Akalla, northwestern Stockholm, was targeted in a shooting and an explosion.

Police suspect that the attack, which left one adult with minor shrapnel injuries, was directed at the wrong people as the family residing there has no known ties to criminal activity.

At least eight shots were fired and a possible hand grenade was detonated outside the building, which has been cordoned off for investigation.

A man associated with the address has been recently linked to organized crime and is wanted for serious offenses.

No arrests have been made yet.
