A late-night explosion shattered the entrance of a multi-family residence in Valsta, a district in M�rsta north of Stockholm, with police confirming the incident as a detonation.

The door and facade of the building were damaged, but no injuries were reported.

The area was cordoned off and the national bomb squad was called in to investigate.

The explosion is being investigated as 'general endangerment' and follows a recent shooting incident in M�rsta, which is being treated as an attempted murder.

Police launched a major search operation for suspects but have not yet made any arrests.
