A serious traffic accident involving a school bus and a van has occurred on County Road 160 in Orust, Västra Götaland County.

The bus, carrying around 40 schoolchildren, collided head-on with the van.

The van driver was seriously injured and had to be cut free from the wreckage before being taken to the hospital.

The road was closed in both directions as emergency services, including police and firefighters, responded to the scene.

Fortunately, all the children on the bus were reported unharmed and were able to evacuate the bus on their own.
