In the early hours of Monday, a mysterious explosion occurred in a residential area of Saltsjöbaden, east of Stockholm.

The incident involved a car parked in a villa's driveway, which sustained damage from the blast.

Despite the explosion being heard across several municipalities, the car was not completely destroyed, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl confirmed that the cause of the explosion remains unknown, and the national bomb squad has been called in to assist with the investigation.

Authorities have launched a preliminary investigation into public endangerment, but no suspects have been identified or detained.

The police continue to canvass the neighborhood for information while maintaining a secure perimeter around the site.
