Increasing numbers of people are dying from dog attacks in Sweden, according to EU cause of death records.
Now, Fredrik Kärrholm, a Member of Parliament from the Moderate Party, wants to ban fighting dogs.
Several people have been victim to dog attacks recently, including a ten-year-old boy in Kortedala who was seriously injured.
Statistics from the EU's cause of death register show that the number of fatal attacks in Sweden has increased since 2014. Kärrholm is proposing to phase out these dogs over time, not to take them away from their owners immediately.
Fighting dogs have already been banned in Norway and Denmark.
