In response to a series of dangerous incidents involving aggressive dogs, Swedish Rural Affairs Minister Peter Kullgren has indicated openness to revising legislation to better address the issue.
A government-ordered report highlighted the inadequacy of current measures by the police and county administrative boards in preventing dog attacks, pointing to a need for enhanced authority and improved collaboration to protect the public effectively.
This comes amid discussions on possibly banning certain dog breeds, a measure already adopted by neighboring countries like Norway and Denmark.
Kullgren emphasized the government's commitment to taking necessary actions based on the report's findings, including potential legislative changes.
