A major water leak in central Jönköping has caused severe flooding and a massive sinkhole, leading to significant disruptions.
The incident occurred on Södra Strandgatan, where a burst main water pipe released enormous amounts of water, flooding streets and buildings.
A sinkhole, approximately 10 meters wide, has formed near Slottsbron, prompting authorities to cordon off the area due to safety concerns.
Bus routes and traffic have been rerouted, and several businesses and homes have suffered water damage.
While the leak has been stopped, residents are experiencing issues like air in pipes and discolored water.
Emergency services and municipal workers are continuing efforts to restore normalcy.
