In a major operation early Thursday in Nynäshamn, south of Stockholm, police arrested six individuals suspected of receiving a large shipment of narcotics, believed to be several hundred kilos of cocaine, at Norvik port.
The suspects, ranging from teenagers to young men in their twenties, are linked to various areas in Stockholm, with at least one connected to a criminal network.
The operation, involving close collaboration with the Customs Authority, led to one of the largest cocaine seizures in Swedish history, with the drugs estimated to be worth over 630 million kronor (approximately $60 million).
Prosecutors are investigating the case as an exceptionally severe narcotics crime, with potential gang connections being scrutinized.
